Well after researching recipes and other ideas for fabulous cupcakes, I have decided to start a blog. Not that anyone will read it, but nevertheless, I'm doin' it! I have recently become absolutely obsessed with cupcakes. Although I am a pretty decent cook in all genres of cooking, I have fell in love with baking and cupcakes are the most fun! As my friends can attest, I am a cupcake fanatic. I even have a cupcake tattoo. No!...It's not anywhere near my C-U-Next-Tuesday!...It's on my foot.
Sorry It's not a very good photo, it was taken on a phone. I guess I could take another one with my digital, but I haven't had a pedicure in a while and I would not subject y'all to that! I've always thought my feet look kinda like Barney Rubble's. This picture (minus the tattoo obviously) is proof of that. A couple of my friends started calling me little smokies too. Since my toes kinda look like those little cocktail sausages. Okay enough about my feet.
Oh! I do, however, have to show y'all a picture of this little ceramic nick-nack (sp?). I was in this little gourmet cooking store and gift shop and saw this. I was so shocked...It looks just like my tattoo. I showed all the girls working there and they all thought it was amazing too. I just had to bring it home with me, even though I was really there for Christmas shopping and was not supposed to be buying things for myself. Oh well!
Anyways, with Valentine's day coming up I have decided to make an extra special gift for my friends. (Yes, friends. There's no significant other right now...damn it!) Since I do not start my new job until April, I have a lot of time on my hands. So, I have decided to make a box of chocolate truffles but instead of different flavored truffles I am going to make different flavored chocolate mini cupcakes. I got this idea while looking up gourmet cupcakes and found this fab idea on another blog by Chockylit which you can see here: http://cupcakeblog.com/index.php
I already have the list of Flavors and funny names for them. I'll post that list too.
Sorry this blog isn't fabulous yet, but I need to play around with it to figure out to make it better. I'm sure it won't take too long. Stay tuned! And I'll let you know how the Valentine's Day Box of Truffle Cupcakes turn out.
Valentine’s Day Cupcakes
Box of Chocolate Truffles:
Come on Baby Light My Fire: Spicy Ancho Chile and Cayenne Pepper
Jamaican Me Crazy: Coconut Cream and Lime
Mint for Each Other: Mint, Duh
A Whole Latte Love: Kahlua Cream and Toffee
Orange you my Valentine? Orange
Razz my Tazz: Raspberry
Espresso My Love: Strong Espresso
Long Stemmed Rose: Rose Water Cream
Completely Nuts for You: Cashew, Almond, Pecan, Walnuts
Ahhhmaretto: Amaretto/Almond flavored
Caramellow Out: Caramel
Feed me a Strawberry: Strawberry Cream
They're all going to start out with chocolate batter and I am going to (in some) add flavoring to the batter, add stuff to the batter, add filling, and add flavoring to the dark chocolate ganache. And of course they will all have some sort of decorations or food item on top to help identify what flavor you are getting. I think I might have to make one of those little sheets of all the flavors and where they are located in the box as well. The names are too fabulous not to be included!

As for the voting, being a wino I voted for white zinfindel (although I would prefer riesling). Can I make a request? I want you to develop a coconut lime cupcake. I guess you could use coconut milk and lime zest. Let me know! Luv ya!
